Health Insurance & more

Furthermore, I fixed an extremely important health insurance issue. My current insurance was inquiring about something I had done saying it was a pre-existing condition. After more phone calls and some Internet advice I found out I was alright b/c I had health insurance previous to this plan and never let it lapse more than 62 days. So, I learned a valuable lesson today. NEVER, never let your health insurance lapse for more than 62 days. I know it can be expensive, but if you have any way to pay for a private plan, COBRA, a plan through school, or something else, do it. These insurance companies will try to find every reason not to cover you.

I saw a comment that I think sums it up best, "sadly, health insurance is for the healthy and not the unhealthy/sick."

Summer breeze

So I know I am a little late, but that story of all those pregnant teens in Gloucester, Mass. Wack! Obviously they do not know how hard it is raising a kid or they would have thought twice about getting pregnant BEFORE 16! It's hard enough to parent, let alone as a teen. And $$$... hope they don't buy a lot of stuff for themselves b/c it's all going to diapers, clothes, medical and food!

So I am excited for July... NYC for July 4th and on a $28 bus, round trip. You love it. It has been gorgeous lately. Hope it stays this way... high 70s, low 80s. Hope it's like that NYC, but now that I am saying this I am sure it will be 8346764 degrees tomorrow.

Man, I forgot about Army Wives this week. Now I need to get my mom to DVR it so I can watch it at home.

Oh, and who heard about how Katy "I kissed a girl" Perry first tried to get her career off the ground with a Christian album! Ha, how hypocritical, but typical.

Sooo long

So it's almost been a month since I have written. Sorry. I suck.

Army Wives is back tonight! Woo, love this show and it's great because all the other shows are gone for summer. And omg, the General's daughter died!!! That's crazy.

It is so freakin' hot. I love summer, but jeezums... isn't it a little too hot or hotter than usual for early June? I want to take a vacation some where a little less humid!? I sweat too much this weekend and got others sweat on me, which was gross. So it has been like 22 days since I have really drank. I have had a couple drinks, but on separate occasions. It's great waking up feeling refreshed on the weekend too. I did it for fitness and to see how it would affect my weight. Ha, typical girl. What if I quit drinking for good? Other than special occasions. Ahhh, being social.

See, I haven't written b/c I don't have much to say. Sooo? That's it!

A year later...

I cannot believe it has been a year since I have graduated college. I remember how slowww life seemed to move up until high school. And even high school seemed longer than four years, however, since I began college life has just flown by. This is definitely not a good thing. I am happy where I am now though. A year out of college and things are going well. Now if this one thing works out I will be on top of the world.

On another note, I really like Trader Joes grocery store. It's very nice and quaint, yet not too expensive like Whole Foods! Also, the rain this week was sooo annoying. I HATE PRECIPITATION! Now it's supposed to rain again tomorrow!

BTW, did you get your free iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts today?! It was a nice size one too... 16 oz. Sorry if you missed it. I am excited to go over there again in the morning and get some hot vanilla coffee!

Now onto the weekend and then Memorial Day weekend. I cannot wait for that weekend because 1. I have a four day weekend 2. Memorial Day weekend is always slammin' awesome and 3. The pools all open up for the season!!

Urban sprawl...

is lame. Urban sprawl is annoying and they are ruining Haymarket! I swear, I only moved out a month ago, but each time I have been back in that area it is different. I have been back probably three times and every time there are more and more trees gone. It's annoying and ridiculous. They're just going to build more grocery stores, random shops, hardware stores (seriously, we don't need a Home Depot when a Lowes is 3 miles down the road) and other pointless places.

You know what we need?! Some roads to support all this urban sprawl, but noooo. Just keep building and constructing more cookie cutter homes! Route 15 is going to be a nightmare.

Woo Gossip Girl and CSI: Miami are on tonight. This weekend I am going down to VT for graduation. It's going to be sad because now I really don't have a sure place to stay when I go back! Today, everyone in this store complimented me on my head-to-toe hokie gear. HAHAHA! LOVE IT.

New TeeVee

How come I keep seeing people refer to t.v. as teevee?! Did I miss a memo or something? Anyhow, found a new show I love! I wish I had known about it sooner since it's in the ninth season! Oh well, I can catch up when nothing else is on. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit! Sooo good. Mariska Hargitay is awesome. I cannot believe I didn't know about this show and her sooner. Chris Meloni is also great and them as partners is perfect. You should watch it if you like crime shows.... Tuesdays @ 10.

Next, Work Out returned for its third season on Bravo. I love this show; it motivates me to work out and the drama is great. I am kind of disappointed in The Hills so far. It's like blah blah, same old. I am hoping it will get more interesting when they move into that mini mansion with Lo because she is entertaining. I love how she tells it like it is.

Have you ever been polygraphed? If not, don't do it. OMG, talk about worst experience ever. I cannot imagine if your husband or wife wanted to polygraph you. I guess no one said it was fun, but still, excruciating is the word that comes to mind when I think of it. Maybe it's because of the people who were polygraphing me. Anyway, just glad it's over.

Yayy, tomorrow is Thursday, which puts me thisss much closer to the weekend. Oh, random, but you should get skinny dippers ice cream bar/pop things.... soooo good. New obsession.

Can't believe it has been a year...

It seems like it was just yesterday. A year goes so quickly, but not much changes. Those 32 are still gone, their families still suffering and I am sure the injured are still climbing the mountain to their full recovery. So as the day winds down I wanted to take some time to remember the families, the injured and 32 we lost...

Brrrrrrreak it down, nah

You should watch this because I said so. Another reason to like Miley. Ha... wish I could make a video like this!

Also, you should watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. I have added it to my list of new fave shows. And guess what?! An all new one comes on tomorrow @ 10 on NBC. Watch it!

New Chapter

I've been super busy and have not been able to write in awhile. Let's see. I've moved out of my parents house (finally)... 11 months after graduating college I was ready to go. Not that living @ home wasn't nice. It was. It was easy and I never got lonely, but the commute was horrible and I hated being so far from the city. I am sick of being in the suburbs. However, moving sucks... such a pain in the butt. I cannot believe how quickly I got my room set up too. It looks good. I will take a pic and post it some time this week.

I am sooo glad tv is back. CSI Miami and Without A Trace were great and I cannot wait to see the new episodes this week! It's going to be sad watching it by myself without my mom :( It's going to be fun going out in D.C. this weekend tho!

Finding my tv shows here is hard though because I don't know the channels! I am like where's TLC, MTV, Bravo!? Hate that. I know they're are, but don't know my way around yet. And who called Kansas in the National Champion?! Yeah, me and they're gonna win it all. HA, UNC and Tyler Hansbrough. Ughh, sucks for the ACC, but I hate them. Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KUUUUU!

warm weather, warm weather

I've been slacking on this. I just haven't felt compelled to write. I am not feeling too compelled today either so don't expect much.

First things first. The Yankees come to Blacksburg to play the VT baseball team today! This comes after they donated a cool million to the memorial fund. Seriously before that I hated the Yankees. For no real reason, no I am not a Redsox fan. It was just annoying, they're such a band wagon team, but that doesn't matter now because I have so much respect for them! They visited the memorial and everything. Great organization. We lost 11-0, lol. Not too surprising.
The Hokies getting the shaft for the NCAA tournie: ridiculous. I know, I know, we didn't beat any quality teams. Sorry, but when we SWEPT Maryland, they were good. It's not our fault they decided to suck. And UVA was supposed to be good this season?! Oh well, just sweeping both those teams is great. We also had an awesome season and I cannot wait until next year.

It's going to be 66 tomorrow! I want the warm weather to come and STAY! I am excited for Easter! It's supposed to be cold, it's always cold on Easter?! What the-- oh and I have friday off! How awesome is that?! Only like one other person I know (Catherine!) has Friday off! I am getting a pedicure, woo!

Also, traffic on 66 is greatttt this week because all the brats are on spring break! I love it. I had to go to the dentist today, boo. The dentist is def. my least favorite doctor. Sorry if you are a dentist or your dad or mom is one. I have sooo many diff. doctor's appointments to go to over the next month! Why do they always fall around the same time... late winter/early spring?! I need to switch the sched up.

NYC vs. DC

NYC is ridyadonkulous place. Now I know. It's pretty cool, but so fast paced... I don't know how people live there. The list in no particular order:

1. The subway?! OMG, so gross and dirty!
2. Homeless people hanging out at the subway stops like no tomorrow! HELLO.
3. The city is dirty, there are a lot of people, I know, but jeez can't you have a little respect for the place?!
4. Sooo hectic and bustle. I love the "city" life, but it is sooo busy there. I don't think I could keep up with the pace of NYC. The i bankers up there work 10 am.... wait for it.... to 3 am on a regular basis! WTF?! Yeah, they make a lot of money, but still.
5. I do like how every trip on their subway is $2, don't have to figure out how much it is going to cost like you do on the metro. Also, you don't have to put a freakin' ticket through the thing to exit like you do the metro.
6. The subway is so confusing. I am not gonna lie, I thought the metro was confusing before I encountered the subway! Now, I welcome the metro.
7. There's soo much to do there, that's for sure. Bar every few steps.
8. Wow, people don't joke around there. They're dressed to the nines, even if there is a monsoon outside!
9. I'm too poor to live and keep up with the "NYC lifestyle."

Anyhow, I have a new appreciation for D.C. I am also ready for warm weather! Woo, cannot believe it's March. And sooo many good things come up...

sad, sad, sad

I have stopped reading the news obsessively because it's incredibly depressing, but these three stories are pretty much all over the place. Three kids, all under the age of 22, murdered before they could fulfill their hopes and dreams. First it was the student athlete murdered by low life gang members. They asked him what gang he when he didn't answer they shot and killed him. Disgusting, horrible. He wasn't in a gang you scum. Worst of all, his mother got word of it serving her second tour of duty in Iraq. Then there was the Auburn girl who was shot and her car was torched. It seems she may have been sexually assaulted too. And then the poor UNC student body president. Just horrible, in her short 22 years she had done so much for the world and some poor excuse for a human had to end it by putting multiple bullets in her. It's a sad world when all 3 of these happen in less than 5 days.

In happier news, I am leaving for NYC after work tomorrow. Cannot wait, already have a lot of things in the works. Fingers crossed. Have a good weekend!

On the move

Sorry, I have been really busy and haven't been keeping up with this. You know I have had some important developments in my life that I have had to attend to and will be attending to over the next week. So there may not be many blog entries over the next week.

Anyhow, I have to go to D.C. for work tomorrow. Cool, if I didn't have to be there @ 8:30 a.m., ugh sooo not looking forward to the commute! I am sad Elliot and the class are leaving for Dubai this week too and without me! I should be going. I am going to NYC though and that should be a lot of fun.

I cannot believe those frackin' Marines a. dropped puppies off a cliff b. FILMED it and c. are human. They should be discharged like yesterday. Puppies are so innocent and would not hurt a soul. Disgusting people.

Also, did you hear Elliot yesterday? The drug addict, his father and their story? So riveting. They have two books out and I did some research on them. Found the article in which the father's book developed and an excerpt of Tweak. Yeah, I def. ordered them both and cannot wait. I love books about drugs, addiction and recovery!!

I am annnnnoyed b/c my 'n' key on my keyboard is fudging out. WTF, I have to press down on it so hard.

Die Citibank

I really, really despise Citibank. Without getting into the story because it's too long, let's just say they're some money grubbing fraudulent whores! Whenever I use they're credit card, which isn't often at all, I encounter 3647632746 problems. Therefore, this is it, I cleared up a stupid fraudulent fee once again I am washing my hands of them. I LOVE CAPITAL ONE, they never give me any problems!

I cannot BELIEVE that Prince Harry has been fighting in Afghanistan since December and it was kept a secret. Good for him, not good for the media to release EXACTLY where he was. What a bunch of bitches, yeah let's break this story and put the Prince's life in danger! AWESOME. Supposedly he is already back on a plane to the UK.

So, I tried Silk Soy Vanilla Milk light and I like it! It's really good and I bought some at the grocery store. Also, still going strong with the soda. Of course, I have had some in between the time I 'quit' and now, but probably a total of 3 sodas. And honestly, now I don't even enjoy it very much anymore. It doesn't taste that great. So looks like I will stick to it!

Quarterlife Crisis

So there's a new show premiering on NBC tomorrow night at 10. It has actually been an "Internet Series" for some time now, but NBC picked it up as a full show. You should watch it. It's good, I watched all the episodes online yesterday and now I can't wait for tomorrow night. It's called Quarterlife and if you're a twenty something it's definitely for you. You should also read the book Crisis because it does a great job summarizing everything you will go through.

I think the Quarterlife Crisis might actually be worse/scarier than the midlife crisis, but def. more exciting. It's an uncertain time where you don't know who you really are anymore, not sure what you're going to do in life and you wonder what happened to that "idea" of what you thought was going to be at twenty something. I know I do and I wish I was still in college almost every day. Ha, but no really... sometimes I even miss just being a kid in elem. school with no real worries. Guess you can apply it to anything: You don't know what you have until it's gone.

I remember I could NOT WAIT to get to high school, graduate, go to college, graduate and get a job, get married, have 2.5 kids, dog, etc. HAAAAA, then I got to college and I wanted to stop time. It's funny how you think things are going to be i.e. go to college, get a great job you love that pays well, find the 'one,' get married, have kids and live happily every after! If only it were that easy. It's a long road from here 'til there and I honestly don't know what I truly want to do. It's scary, exciting, motivating and so many other things. Sometimes I wish I knew exactly where I was going and what I'd be doing in five years, but then I like the not knowing too and being able to make all these choices.

Been M.I.A

Sorry, I've been busy, thus absent from this blog. First things first, how 'bout them HOKIES?! Woohoo! How awesome is it to sweep not only UVA, but Maryland too!! Both have the local conference foes were swept under the rug. Loves it.

If it snows/ices tonight and tomorrow, fine, but it better be impossible for me to get to work. A 3 day work week followed by another 3 day weekend would be superb. However, I have a doctor's appointment @ 9 a.m. and I have things to do every Friday so it's very INCONVENIENT. Ugh, lame.

Let's see, what else. I am going to NYC in like two weeks and I cannot wait. The bus ride is going to make it all the better too, ha. How come I keep seeing BIG BROTHER everywhere? Blogs, recaps, news stories, and friends telling me to watch it. I just don't think it's going to happen. Since the strike I have become really jaded with tv. I haven't been interested in watching anything really. I have watched Friday Night Lights (which might be canceled) and Cashmere Mafia, which might be canceled! AWESOME! Thanks. They canceled Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars last year, now this.

Can I tell you how much I love the rapper Trina? I mean, she is AWESOME. I have been listening to her since like sophomore year of high school, but just downloaded more of her stuff and I love it.

Anyway, I'm outtttttt.

Love President's Day

Yay for President's Day because it gives me a 3 day weekend! Happy President's Day!! I am going to look at cell phones tomorrow too. My phone seems to be crapping out, the screen is fading, and I am kind of sick of it. Hopefully I find one and it all works out.

Blacksburg was great, of course. I miss college soooooo much. I wish I could be a college student forever. Sad. You should check out Gardenia by Mandy Moore, great song. Then I am currently obsessed with Rachel Yamagata! She's awesome and she's from Arlington, Va. woo represent! I am so sick of there being nothing on tv so thank the lord this strike is over! However, now we have to wait for them to produce more episodes. Ahhh.

I don't really have anything else to say, but I hadn't written in awhile. I will write more when I have something interesting to say.

Another day, Another lame-o

Hi folks!

This morning on 66 I spotted another one. Another what, you ask?! ANOTHER FREAKIN' DVCCer!! This was a new one. He drove a maroon Acura TL and his license plate read, "DVCC 13" much to my annoyance once again! If you're reading this and you're that person: YOU ARE LAME. (I know he's not, but still). OMG, it's like a cult. You heard it here first: Dominion Valley is a CULT!

Did you think the world was ending last night and you didn't get the memo or something? Because that's what I thought when I left work @ 5:30 pm. Thank god I was going to Arlington and not home to the lame ass suburbs b/c I looked to the left and it looked like parking lot hell. Car after car after car not going anywhere. I think I went 4 miles in 30 minutes. What normally takes people 30 minutes took two hours. Obvi some people missed their chance to vote too, sad. It's not like it would have mattered, everyone knew McCain and Obama were going to sweep the Potomac primaries. I also heard people were stuck in the Mixing Bowl, not going anywhere for 5, 6, 7 hours!!

So yep, this Potomac Primary was anti-climatic as is this election. And I don't think it's going to get exciting for me anytime soon because I do not like any of the candidates. They're all lame IMHO. OMG, what's that you say?! You don't like Barack Obama?! But he's the change candidate and everyone loves him! So sick of him being homecoming king because the media has shoved him in our faces and made it "cool" to like him. Sooo over it.

I am super excited for this weekend because I am going to Blacksburg! Woo college, yesss downtown, loveeee extremely cheap alcohol! Home away from home forever. Random, but I love urban dictionary... learn so many random things from it. Haha. Also on my love list: wikipedia--obvs, wonkette.com, dcist.com and pink is the new blog has been on my love list for years now. Check 'em out when you're procrastinating, I mean, working diligently at work!

Lastly, Elliot in the Morn and class are going to Dubai! I am sooo jealous and I couldn't even go if I won! It is definitely on my list of places for travel now.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Annoying list cont'd

3. People who go the exact speed limit or 5 over in the fast lane and REFUSE to move over. This doesn't happen a lot, but there are plenty of people who go 65-70 in the fast lane and won't get over when people come up behind them!
4. People who don't get close enough up on a light to trip it and let it cycle through at least 2 times while we all sit there and wait. This happened Sat night, 15 and Old Carolina. Stupid ass Prius was about 5 feet back from the line. I sat through the light twice before I got out of line b/c of that moron!
5. Incessant text messaging when it would be easier to call. If it's just to confirm plans, ask a question, see how someone is, whatever, fine, but do not text me with hey, what's up? And also, this is not IM so we are not going to make plans through 34674638194 text messages. Just call me.

This weekend was so so. Friday night was fun, but then I was hungover and didn't feel like doing much Sat. night. I could have gone to Adams Mo, but I knew I would have gotten home soooo late i.e. 5 a.m. I didn't feel like doing that so I went to Target, LOL, loves it and bought Garden State. Good movie! I also got the soundtrack on itunes... such good music!

Exciting things coming up: Blacksburg this weekend and NYC first w/e of March! Woohoo, cannot wait!

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

That's highly annoying

Here are some things that have just been piling up over the past week that I feel I need to address. They are annoying things.

1. People who live in Dominion Valley who have license plates like DVCC GLF, DVCC SWM, DVCC18, DVCC LAME, WHATEVER! It's so ridic. And, no I am not talking about 1 or 2 vanity plates. I have seen at least 6 in the past couple weeks. Okay, we get it, you're a member of Dominion Valley Country Club and probably live in the neighborhood too. Great?! Do we really need to advertise it?! NO!
2. The gym. Okay, I could go on forever here, but let's just address the most bothersome things. Today, a man was wearing full length leggings?! Yes, I know men run in these, but wear them to the gym and with NO shorts over them. He just had a t-shirt on and a small one @ that. Leggings on a man. at the gym. no. Next, men using the light free weights as in 5-10 pounders. I am not all up on the different weight exercises, but is it really necessary for a man to use the 5 pound weights to do, what looked like, wrist lifts?! Weird. Furthermore, all 4 treadmills being used, fine, but everyone walking for over 30 minutes?! I want to run on the thing, come on!
Okay, that's it for now b/c Cashmere Mafia is going to be on, but there's more!

And sorry I didn't proofread this post!!

L to the ame

That was me this weekend... soooo lame. I didn't really go anywhere, specifically at night. Oh well. I was house sitting and grgghh, I do not want a dog for awhile. I am actually still house sitting until tomorrow night. A dog is so much responsibility: get up early w/ it, let it out, feed it, let it out throughout the day, feed again, play with it, etc. OMG, it's like having a kid. Do I look like I want more responsibility? So yeah my mom can get a dog or whatever, but I don't want one for awhile.

Ahhh, the super bowl. I thought it was going to be lame and it was until the second half! That was so crazy. I kind of wanted the Patriots to win so they could have an undefeated season, but I thought it would be funny if they went undefeated and then lost in the super bowl. And, BAHAHAHHAA. Was it funny or what?! Yes, hilarious. Even more hilarious?! Umm, Belichick walking off the field before it was even over?! What a sore loser! I'd be so embarrassed if I was a Patriots fan. And even better? Cry babies Moss and Brady aren't going to play in the Pro Bowl. Wah, wah, wah. LOSERS.

I want to go to Dubai! Why, you ask?! Well, Elliot in the Morning and class are supposed to go and they're taking 2 listeners (me) along and those 2 listeners get to bring someone! It's for a big rock concert out there and if you look it up, it looks sooooo amazing in Dubai. However, I would have to be on my best behavior. I would be looked down upon b/c I am not traveling with my husband (what husband? kind of hard to travel w/ him when he doesn't exist), you can't cuss or use questionable language (i.e. calling my girl friends bitches and hoes), you can't be all drunk in public, etc. So I am willing to bet that I'd end up w/ 10 life sentences and never take another breath in the good ole' United States of America. You'd def. see a special about me on 20/20 and how my lawyers are trying to get me out of my life sentence x 10 b/c I was intoxicated in the streets looking for my bitches and hoes! Maybe they won't know what a slore is and I can use that?! Ahh, I dunno. My friend Mike and I want to go, but we bet you have to do something really crazy to go too. And I don't know about eating hamsters, waxing his butt, or whatever else EITM comes up with. You should have seen/heard what people did for HANNAH MONTANA tickets. OMG.

And in other news, that punk ass Joran Van Der Sloot confessed to dumping Natalee Holloway's body in the ocean after having sex w/ her in which she died?! Yeah, he admits he said it, but says he was lying. BS, BS, BS. I mean, it was incredibly obvious to me (and many others I'm sure) that he was the guilty one all along. He just has that smug look on his face that says, "Yeah I killed her, I don't care, and I'm going to get away with it."

Oh and haven't had a soda in a week! HAAAAAAAAA! SUCKAAAAASSS.
Dubaiii, Dubaiiii, Dubaiiiiiii-

Burns hurt like $hit

I have a new found respect for burn victims. Okay, not that I didn't respect them before, but omg I cannot imagine how they get through the recovery. Thursday night @ approximately 10 p.m. I was pouring boiling water from a tea kettle into a mug and it was kind of dark. I guess I missed the part where it was FULL because it overflowed onto my left hand.

OMGGGGGGGGGG, I threw the mug and ran my hand under cold water. It immediately started blistering. So I put ice on it b/c my mom told me to. Then I read online NOT to put ice on it. Thanks Mom. So then I soaked it in cold water. It felt okay in the cold water, but then I'd take it out and it would be okay for a min and then throb and burn. The pain, seriously excruciating. It was the most painful thing I have ever felt and that includes the time I ripped the IV out during my wisdom teeth surgery and felt them digging my tooth out! So I took 2 aspirin @ 10:30 and then got into bed. I tried to go to sleep around 11, but my hand burned and throbbed every 10 mins. I would go soak my hand in the bathroom sink and it would feel good/numb for 10 minutes and then intense pain. Then I put solarcaine on it and took 3 more aspirin. It felt good for 15 minutes and then burning again. So from like 11:30 to 1:30 am I went back and forth b/w my bed and the sink. I finally got a bucket of water and took 2 more aspirin and 2 benadryl. That somewhat helped b/c I would dose off, but then wake up to my hand burning b/c it came out of the water. It was now 4:30 a.m. and I was supposed to be up @ 7:30 a.m. DAMNITTTT, I wanted to call in sick, but I couldn't b/c I had deadlines. So at 4:30 I said F it and got a bag of ice. Resting my hand on that finally let me get some sleep, but I would awake when it melted and had to get more. My alarm went off and I was like hell to the no am I going to work right now. So I slept in 'til 10 and then went in. Now the awesome part--my burns had developed into second degree burns! Awesome, it was only on my 3 fingers... pinky, index, and a little on the middle. It was all blistery and gross though. At least it had finally stopped burning. I worked from 11-3 and then went to Urgent Care. They put medicine on it and wrapped it up. They gave me a prescription and now I have to apply it twice a day and change the dressings. Umm, it feels a lot better, but I am getting a lot of looks since my hand is wrapped up like Freddy Cougar. So, if I am ever in a serious fire just pull the plug b/c there is no way I am going to make it through the recovery.

Can you say sweeeeeeeeeeeep?! Yes, beat UVA on the road and in Cassell!!! So awesome to beat them in football and TWICE in basketball. Eat it.

Let's see. I hope Britney is finally getting the help she needs!! I seriously feel bad for her; she has so many people around her taking advantage of her. That Sam Lufti guy is a freak, loser, hanger-on! New music I love: Joshua Radin, awesome and beautiful.
That stupid possum, I mean groundhog saw his shadow so that means 6 more weeks of winter. Great, super, sweet, NOT! I need to move.

Ready for winter to end!

I was thinking today, man I can't wait for warm weather. Then it hit me, it's still January! I know, it's almost February, but still, that means 2 more mts of cold weather. Give or take. Sighhhh.

Elliot in the Morning was boring this morning, but I can't wait until they play the Washington Mystics! I don't care if they are girls, Elliot and the class will NEVER beat them! Elliot is like 5'7 and they have some girls that are 6'7! Just put all the tall girls in there and they can pass it over all their heads. Then just drill it into the basket. I really don't see them beating the Mystics. I don't.

So I got the whole Leona Lewis album and it is AWESOME! Seriously, she is going to be huge once her album is released in the U.S. So Britney had another meltdown? What's new? Seriously, GET HER HELP! I read the stuff and I am not even surprised. I am just surprised that her parents aren't doing more to help her; I know she's an adult, but come on.

Also, supposedly the writer's strike might be resolved soon?! Pleaseeeee! I am so sick of there being NOTHING on tv. It's amazing how little tv I have watched since the last episode of my fave tv shows aired. I am on the fence about Cashmere Mafia. I have watched every episode, but I don't love it. However, I think it has so much potential and it could be such a good show so what's holding it back? I don't know, but I am going to keep watching and I hope it doesn't get canceled! So many shows have been canceled (not only b/c of the strike, but in the past year). You know what is on tonight though? No, not AMERICAN IDOL. Okay, yes it is, but I don't give a flying f. L.A. Ink! That's what I will be watching.

On another note, I have stopped or tried to stop reading the news so much b/c I realized it's giving me a very cynical view on life and this world. So, instead of visiting all the news sites 10 times a day and scanning the stories I am down to about 3 times a day and I try not to scan all the stories staring me in the face, begging for me to read them.

On another another note, I have also stopped drinking soda. Shut up, don't even say it. I don't care if it has only been a day and a half! I am going to make it because instead of drinking soda, I am drinking water! Over the past 2 days I have drank probably 5 liters. So yeah, I am aiming to drink about 2.5 liters a day. And before you say, "Oh, just drink diet soda." No, that's what I already drank! It's like crack and not good for you so I am just going to give it up cold turkey. Besides there are sooo many benefits to water! It's amazing. I feel better already, HA.
(For my records: stopped drinking soda on Jan. 28, 2008)

Music foreverrrr

I discovered some greatttt music this week and weekend. I am obsessed with the song Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Seriously, I probably listen to it, oh 10 times a day! Then Winding Road by Bonnie Somerville from the Garden State soundtrack is awesome. That's obviously old, but I just discovered it. I need to see that movie again. The given songs that are always being cycled on the radio are great too, not all, but specifically Suffocate by J. Holiday, Poppin' Bottles by Birdman and Lil' Wayne and of courseeee See You Again by Miley Cyrus. LOL, it's been confirmed that I am not the only twenty-something that loves that song.

Can I tell you how much being an "adult" is OVERRATED. Ahhh, bills, responsibility, work, etc. etc. I had to get the normal 40k mile service on my car and it was a million dollars and on top of that they said I need FOUR new tires. Umm, the car seems to hug the road fine when I am speeding through the neighborhood! Furthermore, when it's raining/snowing/whatever it doesn't slip. I am going to look into it.

Have you seen this video yet? Haha, apparently it's a comedian and there's one called Give Me That Top too. Gosh, the stuff on youtube is out of control. Anyone can be come famous for 15 seconds now.

And who has seen the line up for the mega ticket @ Nissan?! Awesome, friends have already gotten it and I think I am going to join. I haven't been to enough concerts lately. And I haven't seen any good movies lately! Soo annoying, the last good movie I think I saw that was great was Breach. That was awhile ago. Everything else has been lame.

Also, is it too much to ask for good service and good food when you go out to eat?! Apparently it is because out of the last 5 times I have been out, only one restaurant has been worth it.

The Hokies may have lost to Duke, but they beat BC on the road in OT! Woooo!

Rockin' the suburbs

Well, guess what's going on right now?! The HOKIES are hanging w/ the lame, beloved, bandwagon Duke blue devils. It's half-time so there is still a lot of time. I hope the Hokies can pull off a win. I hateeeee Duke (and UNC for that matter).

Anyhow, tomorrow is Friday... awesome 4 day week this was and I mean AWESOME. One of the best weeks of my life. I can't tell you why right now, but maybe in the future. Are you one of the many people STILL watching American Idol? Yeah, I quit about 476734647 years ago, but mom and sister still enjoy it every single night. Therefore, I see bits and pieces, but I missed last night. So, I missed the famous Amy Catherine, Amy, AC, whatevs. Haaaa, hilarious. She probably will get on people's nerves. My favorite part was when Elliot in the Morning kept randomly playing it. So perfect. And I don't really have much else to say today unlike Tuesday.

HOKIES 43, Duke 49. LET'S GO.................... HOKIES!!!

Still fighting it

What a day. Actually past few days, don't even know where to begin. I cannot believe Heath Ledger is dead! So sad, he is the last one I thought I'd see as a breaking news bulletin on msn.com. Britney Spears? Yes. Amy Winehouse? Totally, she's still alive right? She needs help.

Next thing and only briefly because I am sure you will think it's boring, but the economy? I am worried for our future, for where the country is going?! I am thankful I am young and hopefully have a full life ahead of me. This isn't good for people on the cusp of retiring. The fed cut the rate again... great, band-aid on a gun shot wound. I just can't believe people acted like this wasn't coming. OF COURSE the housing bubble was bound to burst. And shame on you if you bought that 500k house you COULD NOT afford. Even worse, you bankers, mortgage lenders and your sub-prime bullshit. You all should be indicted and go to jail. Yeah, I said it. The buyers should have looked into the sub-prime mortgage loan and also taken a moment to think, "gee is this too good to be true?" YES!!

And, did you know that the world is going to end on Dec. 21, 2012? Yep, look it up. No I am not a religious zealot. If you look it up, it's scary. It's not only Nostradamus, the bible, and all that hoopla. There are scientific facts and scientists (Albert Einstein) who predicted it. The poles might shift causing massive earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes! It's also based upon the Mayan Calendar.
I know, I know. How many times have they said the end is coming? I mean, I still have left over bottle water and packaged dry food in the basement from Y2K. I mean, what?! JK, JK. It's seriously disturbing though and I am not saying I am scoping out a cave right now, but it's just interesting right now. We don't have any regard for human life, this earth, or what's going on in the world. I am just as guilty as the next person. Either the world didn't used to suck as much or I was just a naive, sheltered child. I am going to go with the second revelation. It made me think (crazy or not) what if I have less than four years left? Is what I am doing with my life fulfilling and worthwhile? How much will I not get to do? Do I sweat the small things too much? Do I get pissed off @ drivers on 66 when it really doesn't matter? Yeahhhhh, but then again I might not be alive in 2 years. I might be alive for another 67 years. You never know. Have I depressed you?!

Okay, moving on to random topics and (yes happier). I don't think I could ever be famous because the paparazzi would catch me doing the stupidest things, acting a fool. I thought this to my busy head as I drove down Routes 50 and 15 on my way home this evening. I was singing @ the top of my lungs, switching radio stations (yes I knew every song on every station), dancing like a moron (I'm sure), and snapping - somewhat to the beat. This is just a small glimpse of the things I do in the car.

How wrong is it that I like love Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus’s song See You Again? Seriously, jammed out to that too and I am not ashamed.

Like I am listening to it right now?! I can't wait to see you againnnnnn. I've got my sights set on you. Ohhhhhh, rock out like you're 12. Ok, sorry. Totally uncalled for.

Also do you drive a Subaru WRX? Not sure what that is? Lucky you. Please see above for the ugliest/most annoying/yet people who drive them think they're so cool CAR. I hate them. If you drive one, I don't hate you. I hate your car. FIRST of all, it's a SUBARU! Second of all, it's all 'souped' up and it looks even uglier. Lastly, you think you're sooo cool in your little 6 speed dropping in and out of traffic. Oh and your exhaust is too big and ugly as well. Do I sound 6? Well I like Hannah/Miley, remember? Sorry, I know that is so random, but I think I see that car about once every 2-3 days and it never ceases to make me think "ughh, gross."

By now, you are either thinking 1. this bitch has a case of the crazy (I haven't been hangin' w/ Brit) 2. I can't believe that ho be makin' fun of my WRX or 3. OMG, I totally love Hannah/Miley too!

Livin' in a dreamworld

I am so excited that as I write this it is Sunday and I do not have work tomorrow. Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day - a little early! Three day weekends are the best and this was a good weekend. I saw the Heartbreak Kid last night though and it was lame. Thought it was going to be better, but the best part is that it was only $1! Yep, dolla dolla bill. Redbox is the best and I found out there are 3 near my house! Wooo!

I am drinking a protein smoothie/shake that has egg whites in it. It's foamy, good, but not sure how I feel about it yet. I can tell you how I feel about this cold weather... I HATE IT! Grgghhh... I need to move to FL or Cali.

I want you to listen to RILO KILEY, specifically silver lining and dreamworld, but it's all awesome! Love them. Music is so awesome. Since tv is disappointing me so much lately, I've been listening to more music online. Not only is the writer's strike getting old, but the last episodes they had in the can were pretty lame! It's like these are supposed to be cliffhangers?! BORING?!

And how about this "economy stimulus package" or tax rebate. By the time we get them won't the economy already be in the shitter? I mean, I'd love to have an extra $800 (rumored), but I think it will/is a little too late. Furthermore, it's taxed!! HOORAY, tax rebate that's taxed! Love it.

Patriots are going to the Super Bowl... shocker! I'm glad because it's just more time we all get to look @ Tom Brady. Spshh, Gisele, back off.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it NOT!

See, I'm gonna tell you.... how I hate this snow. It seriously is not cool for me anymore and I don't understand why you people like it unless you're 7. If it gets you out of school... AWESOME! If you get to go skiing in Vail, even better, but I had to drive home from work in it and I don't appreciate it. If you're one of those people who don't care either way - I guess I get that, but so many people like it and I don't get it! I left work an hour early and surprisingly, traffic was great! It moved the whole time, other than being a little slow, I never had to stop like usual.

Anyhow, I also had to miss my work happy hour! And let's face it: that's the real tragedy here. I figured I wouldn't be getting to happy hour until 5:45 and then I would be there 'til about 8:30 and the roads would just get worse. So, I took one for the office and didn't attend. It was hard. I must say though, my driving once I got into my neighborhood was impeccable. I mean, I drive a jetta and since VDOT (yeah, you suck as usual) didn't bother to plow my street it was rather treacherous. However, I was able to barely slide AND get my car in the garage. Balllllinnn' or drivvinnnnn'!!

How awesome is that acoustic version of sweetest girl? I am seriously in loveeee with the song and Dave Patten. I am so excited for this weekend!! Three day weekend is in sight... holla Martin Luther King Jr. Andddd, the best news? The Hokies were victorious last night in a HUGE win against the lame wahoos! So exciting and in case you missed it, of course you can jump up and down like I did when you watch this.

Will I talk about Virginia Tech in some way, shape or form every blog? Umm, probably! Do I have an unhealthy obsession my alma mater and sports teams? Possibly, but I don't think so.

Dolla dolla bill. where did the weekend go?

Hi Folks!
Another weekend has come to a close and once again it's time to go back to work. Lame, the weekends fly by. Except Friday seemed to be the longest day of my life since I didn't walk through the door until 7 a.m.! Yeah, then the whole day was wasted because I slept 'til 3. Come on people, you didn't expect me to sacrifice my 8hours did you? Beauty rest.

I'm writing in orange in honor of the Hokies since it seems our whole team is going to the NFL next year. First Brandon Flowers, now Macho Harris and Branden Ore might be next. And NO, I did not spell BrandEn's name wrong... that's how he spells it. Can Bryan Stinespring go with them? Except we all know he is nowhere near good enough for the NFL. So he should be demoted to OC of Stonewall Jackson High School.
In other news, how sad is it that they found that pregnant marine dead? And the alleged (we know he did it) killer is on the loose! Supposedly he is on his way to Texas. Greattt, so then he can jump on down to Mexico.

Sidenote: Back to sports, how funny is it that the Cowgirls lost?! Love it!
Now, onto Southeast D.C. where the woman was arrested for killing her 4 daughters. I cannot believe their bodies may have been there since May?? Didn't the 30 members of Benita Jacks family that showed up to support her in court wonder where they had been? You would think they might have wanted to see them in the summer, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas?! Furthermore, social services couldn't track down their address when they received calls about them, but U.S. Marshals had NO problem getting the address to evict them?!? Sketchy? Yes.

And onto Northwest D.C. I love Georgetown and I wish I wasn't a poor twenty-something so I could live there. It's so nice, fun and there's so much to do. Maybe one day.

Who wants to place bets on whether Britney Spears will show up to court tomorrow? I am betting she won't because well, that's how she rolls. Yes, I had to comment on this. What's a day without some news about Britney Spears?!

The bad news is tomorrow is Monday, but the good news is it's another morning to listen to Elliot in the Morning on DC101. I seriously missed their show so much while away at college. It's the only thing that keeps me from getting into a bitch fight with you fools on 66. Stop tailgating me; in case you didn't notice there are 3438954745 cars in front of me and I can't move any faster unless I jump into their trunk. Back it up!

And I'm out.
