warm weather, warm weather

I've been slacking on this. I just haven't felt compelled to write. I am not feeling too compelled today either so don't expect much.

First things first. The Yankees come to Blacksburg to play the VT baseball team today! This comes after they donated a cool million to the memorial fund. Seriously before that I hated the Yankees. For no real reason, no I am not a Redsox fan. It was just annoying, they're such a band wagon team, but that doesn't matter now because I have so much respect for them! They visited the memorial and everything. Great organization. We lost 11-0, lol. Not too surprising.
The Hokies getting the shaft for the NCAA tournie: ridiculous. I know, I know, we didn't beat any quality teams. Sorry, but when we SWEPT Maryland, they were good. It's not our fault they decided to suck. And UVA was supposed to be good this season?! Oh well, just sweeping both those teams is great. We also had an awesome season and I cannot wait until next year.

It's going to be 66 tomorrow! I want the warm weather to come and STAY! I am excited for Easter! It's supposed to be cold, it's always cold on Easter?! What the-- oh and I have friday off! How awesome is that?! Only like one other person I know (Catherine!) has Friday off! I am getting a pedicure, woo!

Also, traffic on 66 is greatttt this week because all the brats are on spring break! I love it. I had to go to the dentist today, boo. The dentist is def. my least favorite doctor. Sorry if you are a dentist or your dad or mom is one. I have sooo many diff. doctor's appointments to go to over the next month! Why do they always fall around the same time... late winter/early spring?! I need to switch the sched up.

NYC vs. DC

NYC is ridyadonkulous place. Now I know. It's pretty cool, but so fast paced... I don't know how people live there. The list in no particular order:

1. The subway?! OMG, so gross and dirty!
2. Homeless people hanging out at the subway stops like no tomorrow! HELLO.
3. The city is dirty, there are a lot of people, I know, but jeez can't you have a little respect for the place?!
4. Sooo hectic and bustle. I love the "city" life, but it is sooo busy there. I don't think I could keep up with the pace of NYC. The i bankers up there work 10 am.... wait for it.... to 3 am on a regular basis! WTF?! Yeah, they make a lot of money, but still.
5. I do like how every trip on their subway is $2, don't have to figure out how much it is going to cost like you do on the metro. Also, you don't have to put a freakin' ticket through the thing to exit like you do the metro.
6. The subway is so confusing. I am not gonna lie, I thought the metro was confusing before I encountered the subway! Now, I welcome the metro.
7. There's soo much to do there, that's for sure. Bar every few steps.
8. Wow, people don't joke around there. They're dressed to the nines, even if there is a monsoon outside!
9. I'm too poor to live and keep up with the "NYC lifestyle."

Anyhow, I have a new appreciation for D.C. I am also ready for warm weather! Woo, cannot believe it's March. And sooo many good things come up...

sad, sad, sad

I have stopped reading the news obsessively because it's incredibly depressing, but these three stories are pretty much all over the place. Three kids, all under the age of 22, murdered before they could fulfill their hopes and dreams. First it was the student athlete murdered by low life gang members. They asked him what gang he when he didn't answer they shot and killed him. Disgusting, horrible. He wasn't in a gang you scum. Worst of all, his mother got word of it serving her second tour of duty in Iraq. Then there was the Auburn girl who was shot and her car was torched. It seems she may have been sexually assaulted too. And then the poor UNC student body president. Just horrible, in her short 22 years she had done so much for the world and some poor excuse for a human had to end it by putting multiple bullets in her. It's a sad world when all 3 of these happen in less than 5 days.

In happier news, I am leaving for NYC after work tomorrow. Cannot wait, already have a lot of things in the works. Fingers crossed. Have a good weekend!

On the move

Sorry, I have been really busy and haven't been keeping up with this. You know I have had some important developments in my life that I have had to attend to and will be attending to over the next week. So there may not be many blog entries over the next week.

Anyhow, I have to go to D.C. for work tomorrow. Cool, if I didn't have to be there @ 8:30 a.m., ugh sooo not looking forward to the commute! I am sad Elliot and the class are leaving for Dubai this week too and without me! I should be going. I am going to NYC though and that should be a lot of fun.

I cannot believe those frackin' Marines a. dropped puppies off a cliff b. FILMED it and c. are human. They should be discharged like yesterday. Puppies are so innocent and would not hurt a soul. Disgusting people.

Also, did you hear Elliot yesterday? The drug addict, his father and their story? So riveting. They have two books out and I did some research on them. Found the article in which the father's book developed and an excerpt of Tweak. Yeah, I def. ordered them both and cannot wait. I love books about drugs, addiction and recovery!!

I am annnnnoyed b/c my 'n' key on my keyboard is fudging out. WTF, I have to press down on it so hard.
